I am writing today about my mom. She is a divorcee who is remarried and currently runs her own business. She went through some tough times to get where she is today…

My mom and dad were divorced when I was about 8 years old, and decided to live separately. My mom basically had to raise 4 kids on her own but she did have a lot of financial support from my father. While she was raising four kids, she also decided to pursue her masters degree in social work. I’m not sure how she managed to do this because the four of us were pretty rough and always involved in drugs and alcohol and rarely did as we were told. A few of us were in and out of rehab as well. She was the rock though that did whatever it took to make sure that we always ended up on the right path.
I’m very proud to say that all of us have graduated from college and although at the time we didn’t appreciate what she did for us… we all do now!! She now is running her own private practice helping other families deal with drug abuse and all other sorts of mental problems. Trust me, she speaks from experience!! I’m very happy that she is my mom and is making a difference in our community every day.
